Tubular Thursday.

On Thursday the 5th of November Room 2&3 went to the Canterbury museum, The library and Margaret Mahy.

We left school at 9:30am on a bus we stopped at Margaret Mahy for room 3, then we continued to the museum. When we got there we sat and had morning tea in the botanic gardens and then we heading to the museum.

 We put our bags in the cabinets and sat down we were told about safety, rules and who were gonna be instructed by we passed into the Maori room and we learnt about games we play an old game where you have stones and how you win is to block your opponent and then we made up our own games with natural materials.  After we went into the moon room the hallway into there had a clear floor and the roof and walls with fairy lights it was amazing.

We walked past there into a classroom were we played with old toys and kaleidoscopes. We walked to the library and me and my friends played just dance and then we left. We bussed to Margaret Mahy me and my friends played on the big grey slide. We bussed to school then we went to pick up.

Pet letter

Kloe W, Miss Pownall, Room 2, Room 2, NBC NBC To Miss Pownall, I sincerely think that a dog should´t enter our class. It will be smelly, might, it will annoy us and we might hurt it .That is not a fun dog day. Firstly Dogs Smell they really smell so having a smelly dog in class is not the best. My dog Judy is really smelly at her most smelliest is when she blows steam or farts. Do we really want a smelly classroom from this dog? Secondly It will annoy us like it really annoy us if you know dogs they bark, beg and chew on things all the time!!! imagine how many things are going to be chewed on and the slobber on everything ew yuck. My dog always slobbers and barks,chew and begs for food I know crazy right? anyway it is so annoying I bet this dog isn't any different. Lastly we might hurt the dog by patting too hard and we might step on his tail while he's sitting and that will hurt him. Do we want to risk that? My cat Gangaberry has a long tail. Once I accidentally stood on it he went YOWL it was painful for him and I felt really bad. Do we want to feel bad like I did for stepping on his tail? In conclusion Dogs are smelly,annoying and we might hurt them. Do we want to do this to the dog and our classroom? Yours sincerely, Kloe W. 

Pets are not for everyone!

It is unbelievable that people think that everyone should have pets. They are violent,expensive and easily neglectable creatures.

Firstly, they can be violent,vicious and can even kill people. This risk is even higher if you have a small child because they pull on tails and annoy them. Any pet can be vicious like my teacher Miss Pownalls Fish.  She had 3 fish Hunter, Cleo and ruby. Hunter was a special fish… One day when Miss Pownall  came home from school she  saw Ruby was missing a fin the next day Ruby was missing another find on the last day Ruby was missing and Hunter was a lot fatter than before so Miss Pownall separated  Cleo and Hunter. See any pet can be vicious.

Secondly, they are not cheap they cost MONEY.  Nowadays  cat food is $12.99 and some cats need heaps of food and that's just cats imagine Dogs, Birds, Fish and more. 

My Nana spends more than $15 on biscuits and $10 at least on wet food and that's just food!

Finally, they are easily neglectable, imagine being a cat or dog or any animal and not having food or water or even a home! These animals end up with anxiety and serious behaviour changes also their mental heath.

I have a dog called Judy before we got her she was called swifer and was neglected by her previous owner, now she shakes a lot and  get frighted easily. See the wrong owner/environment can harm animals mentally.

In conclusion, not every one can have pets. This is because they are vicious, expensive and neglectable. 

 

   

The Tall Shoemaker

The Tall Shoemaker W.A.L.T Analyse and create a character description. The Tall Shoemaker came to this tiny town to sell shoes but got more than he bargained for.... He has a shoe stand with all kinds of shoes. His friends are as unreal as a pig flying. He wears sassy, rich, sharp clothes and carries a jet black cane with a gold heel on top of it. He wears a midnight coloured top hat and a sharp tux. He is very very very tall. He has a beard with no hair on his chin, it's a dusty red pigment. He has small brown eyes. His job is selling shoes. He stands like he owns the world. He moves in a lanky manner. He did nothing, well, he did steal a lot of customers but that's it, I swear!. He lives in a shoe van. His ego is so big it fills up 50 vans. The Tall Shoemaker was chased away and never to be seen again…

Pennywise character description.

Pennywise is a killer clown in a horror movie called IT

He scares kids and kills them in the sewer so they float.

He has dusty red hair and a pale white face that chills your spine.

He had blood red markings like battle scars.
He has a smile that scares the fearless are afraid of

His eyes strike fear but you're drawn to it.

He has old dusty brown clothes that look 100 years old.
He comes every 27 years to kill again.

It top trumps

I made top trumps for the movie IT it is a Horror movie about 7 kids who come together as the Loser club they have to beat a clown called Pennywise.

Rambunctious Rock Climbing

On Wednesday the 24th of February 2020 at Living Spring the year 6’s went rock climbing. It was challenging for me, it hurt my hands and feet.

 we did normal climbing then we did a challenge to only use  certain colours, it was okay but what was fun was

King/Queen of the wall. We did challenges on the wall for example do a 360, Elliott won the game.

 We also played Shark Attack. It was where we had 5 seconds to get on the wall when our instructor said Shark Attack, they would add rules on every round. After 5 seconds we could be eaten if we didn't do the challenge on the wall. The instructor said when it was safe.

 We played Around The World, we had to climb around the walls to the end. We got into a line and when it was our turn we tried to go around the wall and when we fell we would hop back in line and try again. 

Thank you Living Springs for taking us Rock climbing. It was an amazing experience for me. 

Darkside

 This is my story called Darkside it's about a girl that likes to run. She meets someone in a dark cloud and she tries to figure out his name but she make a bad decision.                      

Chapter 1

One day a Girl named Oceana was running around she saw a dark area she ran to it to be stopped by a shadow. She saw his dark red eyes. “h-h-h-hi” she stuttered.

He said nothing as he stared into her ocean blue eyes and whispered “your not safe here.” She tried to talk to him but he turned and walked into the dark cloud. She went to follow him but he said “GO!” “not until i know your name” she answered. 

“go home we will meet at night” He said in an unpromising tone.

she studded “o-o-ok” and ran home. 

Later that night she ran to the same place they had met earlier. She said “hello” no sound came from anywhere or the dark shadow she took a few steps towards the dark shadow “hello” she called out again. Two hours past, she wondered if he will show. 

She stepped near the dark cloud putting in half her face. She called out “Hello” he ran and pushed her back into the open field. Looking into her once ocean blue left eye and he said “Your left eye it is now red” and left.     

    Chapter 2

She ran home and looked in the mirror.

“He was right my left eye is red” again she ran to the dark shadow and yelled “WHY HAS THIS HAPPENED!” he called back “because you ran into the shadow”

She called “What's your name?” as he was going to tell her his name his father dragged him back in the misty shadow Oceana cried “come back” nothing was heard but the yells of his father saying “What are you doing!!” “father she has one red eye” his father ran to see if Oceana was there. 

His father said “what's your name?” she said “Oceana” nothing but silence came from the dark misty shadow. “Hello” called Oceana nothing. She ran back home sad and alone.

                    

          Chapter 3

It has been three days since she saw him sometimes she runs over to where they met. On the fourth day she ran to see the shadow gone. “Was this all in my head” She thought. She was going to run home confused and then something whispered “bye” she turned around to see him standing in black cloud, “h-hi” said Oceana “hi Oceana” he said softly. She replied “what's your name? You know mine” he said nothing as he left…  

   2 years later

Oceana was now 15 years old. She was hoping she could see his dark red eyes again. She hallucinates him sometimes standing there looking at her.

 Her one red eye starts to fade when she is sad or remembers his beautiful red eyes. She starts to see her other eye turn red so she goes to the eye contacts shop. 

she said, “Can I have a pair of ocean blue eye contacts” they were given to her. She put them in and looked in a mirror. “Just like my eye colour” she whispered and walked home. 

  Chapter 4

She is moving to Auckland away from Christchurch her home she doesn't but wont to move. she must because the pain she feels near the field where they met was consuming her on the inside. Eating at her she had no choice. When she arrived she went to a hotel. She went for a morning run she saw the black cloud again. She was puzzled her eye turn back to her normal eye when the black cloud faded away. Unaware of her eye she ran home. He was standing in her room he looked at her and said ̈my name is Damon, come with me to the Darksi- ̈  ̈OMG yes¨ He open a portal and in they went.

10 years later

They had 2 kids an 11 year old and a 10 year old they live in the universe in the dark cloud and go to school until one day...

How to make a marmite sandwich

Materials

• 2 pieces of bread

• Marmite

• Butter or margarine

• Butter knife

Steps

1.  Grab 2 pieces bread out the packet and put it on the bench

2. Open your marmite

3. Open the margarine

4. Put the sharp end of the butter knife in to the butter

5. Scoop out a decent amount of butter out and spread it out on the face of one piece of bread

6. Put the sharp end of the butter knife in to the Marmite 

7. Scoop out a decent amount of marmite out and spread it out on the face of the other piece of bread

8.  Put the pieces of bread together make sure that the ingredients are together when you put it together

            Eat it 

It worked because Miss holland was following the instructions and in the end she made a sandwich and i got to eat it!

Revenge of the trees

W.A.L.T: write a narrative

In room 2 we have been writing Narratives this is mine. A narrative is a story that can be non-fiction or fiction and it contains a bad guy, a good guy, characters and it also contains a setting.

In the previous story the neighbour kills the turtles then the trees are trying to be good  by getting revenge on the bad neighbour.

9:00am Tuesday 4th of October 2013

Rainbow and Red and Black trees are waiting in the neighbours dead lawn waiting to attack…….

The neighbour suddenly looks outside through his dirty window and says to himself, “ Hmm I killed my trees”.

He suspiciously walked outside. The trees suddenly attacked with their guns but they missed the shot, but randomly he summons a robot  to kill the trees. The robot strongly slices the rainbow tree.


The red and black tree becomes angry with rage and destroys the robot. The neighbour runs away looking for his  weapons in self defence. When he returns he has 260 bullets a shotgun and a katakana and yelled “GOT YA” and unleashes all his bullets but missed.

The red and black tree yelled “Hahahahahaha” and quickly unleashes 300 bullets and the neighbour died. The red and black tree rushes inside the neighbour's house gets nails, wood and a hammer. Then nails the wood to the rainbow tree and they walk home and chill.

Powtoon is something you can play on you can choose music for you animations. Powtoon is fun and me and a friend Violina recommend it to any one. I am learning to write a diamante poem

to write a  diamante  poem you need,

- 2 opposite things,

- write it in a dimond shape,

- nouns,verbs and adjctives.

I have enjoyed writing it and chosing the animals and colours,

it is diffrent to other poem because it is about opposite things and is shaped

as a dimond.
